What if wisdom didnt just encompass aquired information? Perhaps wisdom can be earned through experience as a way to navigate life with discernment, or learning to listen within to earn wisdom through the discipline of silence... in which case, Peace would arise as consequence of earned wisdom, not as a discourse from it. In a lot of situations, the ego/mind chatters away and controls and confuses the consciousness of self, preventing peace from ocurring. But perhaps a sort of wisdom would be discerning these chattering voices from the true seat of consciousness (the witness). And of course, this type of wisdom must be earned through discipline and practice, but peace can be earned as the wisdom of discernment opens the door to it. Loving these Wednesday balms...!!
Awesome response and thoughts! Really got me thinking on this one.
I think "information" as a word can extend beyond cerebral/mental things like facts, associations, details. Information can also include things like matter, nutrients, experience, memories, etc. Wisdom is a product of interacting, consuming, and digesting reality. Reading a book and pulling "information" is the same as experiencing life and integrating "information" which is also the same as eating an apple and getting the "information" that is nutrients.
To have an experience is to participate in reality and have something from it. Whether that's skills, muscles, understanding, etc, etc. And Part of Wisdom demands experience. Which is part of why we made the experiment portion of WB. It is an invitation into the experience of these values/ideas.

I would agree that learned wisdom often can lead into peace, but the intention of separating the two was mostly to say they are not always a packaged deal.
Sometimes in heavy situations (break-ups, grief, new life circumstances), people will turn to wisdom for solace. Books on grief, advice from mentors, therapists, religion, etc, etc. However, a lot of times what happens is one can consciously be aware of the situation, yet in their own being/feeling/gut that truth hasn't been accepted yet.
It's the person who after a break-up is saying "I get it, I know I'm supposed to do this, I understand it - buuuuuut." They are aware of it in their head, but their being has yet to truly accept it.
The wisdom of learning to observe, be silent, witness, practice detachment is useful in attaining Peace - and maybe that wisdom has been earned by repetition and experience - but I think because it leads from one into the other, that still shows a demarcated difference.
"You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink" sort of thing.
I think with most of the material and these idea they do lead into each other in some way, but within that there's always like a point where the self has to jump off a cliff, into a state of unknown. Where one ends, the other begins, and it cycles, and cycles.
Overall! Great response! I love the idea of Wisdom extending into experience. On the next pass of Wisdom, I'll definitely try to examine this idea more thoroughly.
Yes I totally hear you and appreciate the life metaphors you've used to illustrate your thought process :)
I also had the thought that there are polarities or spectrums associated with each of the values... like for Wisdom, on one side can be information held in the head that can prevent a person from growth/evolution (like a know it all attitude)....and on the other side theres integrated wisdom that would penetrate one's actions and whole way of being. And for Love, one polarity might be attachment /obsession and the other polarity would be surrender and compassion. For Peace, one polarity would be blissful ignorance, while the most integrated form would be a peace that comes from the wisdom of discernment and disciplined practice and application. For freedom, one polarity could be carelessness and another more integrated polarity would be the freedom found in every moment through integrated awareness of each moment. And within each of these values, within the spectrum of polarities, there are aspects of "earned" and "unearned" correlations depending on how the person practices and integrates these values in everyday life, or the extent of self-mastery so to say. Just playing with the thoughts...
You and Kel are both so eloquent in your expressions, and I like being able to interact in this format...keep em comin!

We are thinking very similarly in terms of polarities and relativities! Please also keep your thoughts coming!
